After contacting us, we will connect new clients with our client portal for completing the intake paperwork on-line. Our electronic health care record system and on-line tele-health platform are HIPPA compliant and are covered by insurance at the same level as in-office visits. (It is important to know that Zoom meetings are not HIPPA-compliant as the images and audio are recorded and may be accessed by system administrators.)

On-line therapy sessions — also known as telehealth, teletherapy, telemedicine, e-visits and virtual care – make mental health services available to anyone with a computer or a device with a microphone and camera. You can choose where to have your session — in your office, your home or wherever else is convenient and private. There is no need to download any software or create an account. On-line sessions are generally covered by insurance companies to the same level as clinic-based services.
Limitations of on-line therapy
Telehealth, teletherapy, telemedicine, e-visits and virtual care are not emergency services – in the event of an emergency, please call 911. On-line services are not be adequate or appropriate for every type of therapeutic situation and, therefore, Wellness Matters staff may decline to engage in on-line services if clinically deemed inadequate or inappropriate.
How do on-line appointments work?
When it is time for your appointment, you will receive an e-mail from your therapist with a link which will instantly connect you. Wellness Matters uses Simple Practice which is a “HIPPA-compliant” service that ensures privacy and security. All data is encrypted, sessions are anonymous, and none of the sounds or images are stored.
